Anna McNuff Announces Barefoot Britain Adventure 2019

Yesterday, adventurer Anna McNuff announced her next adventure: Barefoot Britain. In 2019, Anna will run 100 barefoot marathons across the UK - and she means barefoot. No shoes whatsoever!

The Route

Barefoot Britain will take place from summer through to winter of 2019. Anna will start on 2nd June from the Shetland Islands and weave her way down through the UK - including parts of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight.

Guiding the Next Generation

Anna McNuff is a proud ambassador for Girl Guiding in the UK. During her journey, she will be visiting as many Guide groups as possible, giving talks about adventure and the outdoors.

Anna says, "At the core of the journey is an aim to show the young women of Great Britain that there is more in magic them than they will ever know."

Barefoot?!

"Right now, I am equal parts excited and terrified. And when excitement and fear collide there can be only one outcome: ADVENTURE!" says Anna.

"When I stand in front of those young women - our future leaders, scientists, adventurers, athletes, politicians, artists… I’m going to be encouraging them to reach for things that are just beyond what they believe they are capable of. And if I’m asking them to do that, then I have to be on that journey too."

Leading by example: she is pretty sure that she could complete 100 marathons in trainers. Going barefoot takes the challenge to a whole new level. Now Anna is no longer certain she will complete this adventure.
