Happy December - and welcome to one of those mysterious months that has five Wednesdays. Our usual start-of-month bulletin will be coming out next week, but we have something very exciting to announce.

For the whole month of December, we are offering a lifetime membership discount. That’s right: make one membership purchase now and have insider access forever.

We’ve never done this before and I’m not sure if we’ll ever do this again. Sign up via the button below for a £65 one time payment in December 2021 and you’ll be a member for life. That’s just over a year’s subscription turned into forever.

What do I get?

As a member you will get:

• Access to our members community. Not a Facebook Group or Discord or Slack, it’s our own personalised section of the internet at community.intrepid-magazine.com. Here you can chat to other members, ask advice, get recruited for expeditions (or fill your own!), share blogs/podcasts/videos and more.

• Complete access to our online library including all 12 print editions of Intrepid Magazine and the first 3 chapters of an adventure book each month. (15 books in the library already - 16 next week)

• Test gear and keep it. We are regularly offered outdoor gear to test for Intrepid Magazine. Rather than keep these with an elite group of gear testers, we offer them out to members. In exchange for an honest and relevant review, published online, you can keep the kit. (Previously we’ve had everything from sleeping bags and waterproof jackets to bamboo underwear.) We’re also able to offer support with helping to find equipment for a particular adventure or expedition.

• Grants, discounts and opportunities. It takes a long time for the adventure bulletin to come around each month. Hear about new grants, opportunities and external events as soon as they’re spotted. We’re also building a database of discount codes exclusively for members. (And will hunt down ones at members’ request!)

• Join in on events. We’re building a plan for a 2022 events series - both online, with recordings, and in person. This is a work in progress and as a member you can help shape where we go and what we do in person, plus pick speakers and topics for online events.

• Support the publication. It’s no secret that we can only pay our contributors because of memberships. The stories you read here are directly funded by members. The more members, the more articles we’ll be able to fund per month.

• Help shape the future of Intrepid. We’re at the beginning of an exciting new phase. By joining at the start, you can have a direct influence in how our community grows and where we focus our efforts. FAQs

Is this offer open to current members?

Absolutely. If you’re already a paid member on a monthly or yearly subscription, you can definitely still take advantage of this offer. When you pay for life membership, we’ll simply cancel your old one.

Do I have to be female to be a member?

No. What all members have in common is a wish to support and promote female adventurers. We believe that your gender shouldn’t stop you from being able to that, if you’d like to. Although our focus will always be on women - and the opportunities/content that we share reflects that - there are still benefits for non-female members. You’ll still have access to our huge online library, all the discount codes, event recordings and community. You just might not be able to take full advantage of everything.

Will I get immediate access to the members’ area?

We are running this offer manually, so you will get access asap - although not quite instantly (please bear with me, I’m not a computer!). I’ll be adding new members on Wednesdays and Fridays - or sooner if I see that you’ve signed up and have a spare five minutes.

Can I get a lifetime membership as a gift?

Absolutely. To do this, click the sign up link and pay as normal. Then send an email to emily@intrepid-magazine.com with your email, the name and email of the person you’re gifting to and when you want them to be told about the gift. (We can put it on hold for Christmas, for example - your secret is safe with us!)
